The Nine Senators who Voted for America – Not the America Invents Act

There were only nine Senators who voted for America and the Constitution yesterday.  They were:

Rand Paul R-KY

Cantwell D-WA

Boxer D-CA

Johnson R-WI

Lee R-UT

Coburn R-OK

DeMint R-SC

McCain R-AZ

McCaskill D-MO

Rubion and Rockefeller abstained.

  1. Senator Maria Cantwell may have said it best: “This is not a patent reform bill. This is a big corporation patent give away that tramples on the rights of small inventors.” It’s certainly a shame that Sen. Coburn’s amendment (ending fee diversion by Congress) didn’t stand a chance. But considering the current political climate, I suppose it’s not surprising.

  2. The cynicism shown by legislators in passing this bill, show we are no longer a nation of laws and principles.
